Welcome to Banyan Community Health’s Behavioral Health programs. We provide individual, group, and family psychiatry and counseling services for adults, children and families. Our services are provided to everyone, regardless of their ability to pay. We also provide residential treatment support.
At Banyan Community Health, mental health care and primary medical care go hand-in-hand. This is because, as a federally-recognized Patient-Centered Medical Home, our purpose is to treat the “whole patient.”
Mind and Body Wellness at Banyan Community Health
In many cases, mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, and addiction affect a person’s physical wellbeing as well as his or her emotional wellbeing. We realize that many behavioral and mental health issues our patients face are most effectively treated when doctors, nurses, and behavioral health professionals work together to unveil and treat the root of each patient’s issues as well as their symptoms.
We integrate behavioral into primary as your medical home. Our Behavioral Health providers provide services during your primary care healthcare visit. As a member of your healthcare team, our Behavioral Health providers work together with your doctor to address many of the factors that may affect your physical health, such as:
- Challenges in managing chronic illness
- Barriers to making healthier choices
- Stress factors that may impact your physical health
It can be difficult to distinguish physical symptoms from emotional symptoms. Through our collaborative approach, we empower patients and their loved ones to address the causes of their issues. By providing comprehensive, compassionate care and treating each patient with grace and dignity, we help patients rise above their struggles and make the changes necessary to regain control and purpose in their lives.

Outpatient Services
At our Drop-In Center, individuals recovering from mental health or substance abuse issues find a compassionate, accepting environment where they can escape community stigmas and focus on activities of daily living, socialization, employment skills, and more.
Outpatient therapy includes individual and family treatment for emotional, behavioral, and/or substance abuse problems through mental health care and primary medical care. Our professionals are trained in providing integrated treatment of co-occurring mental health and addiction disorders in order to promote better health.
Case Management
Through our General and Targeted Case Management, clients benefit from dedicated, person-centered support. Case managers can help coordinate services and resources for consumers who have complex needs and help them develop their own healthy support system.
Adult Psychiatric Services
Through our outpatient psychiatric and health services for adults, we provide:
- Comprehensive psychiatric evaluations
- Medication prescription and monitoring
- Laboratory and pharmacy services
- Chronic pain management
- Tobacco cessation
- Outpatient therapy
Pediatric Psychiatric Services
For pediatric clients, we provide:
- Diagnosis and treatment of Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD)
- Parenting education
- Behavior counseling
- Outpatient therapy
Substance Abuse Treatment
Banyan Community Health provides integrated addiction services. Here, you can be seen by your own primary care provider and a behavioral health therapist to treat addiction to pain pills, heroin, or other substances.
Addictions are complicated and can be caused by a combination of hereditary, environmental, and social circumstances in life. Consequences can lead to other disorders such as depression, anxiety or trauma. Our Substance Use Programs can help you overcome your addiction so that you can live a healthier, more fulfilling life.
We also offer Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) with Suboxone.
Inpatient and Residential Treatment
- Banyan Community Health operates five inpatient behavioral health centers in South Florida. We operate a Dual Diagnosis Residential Program, working with the Federal Bureau of Prisons (FBOP) to support persons with co-occurring mental and substance abuse disorders who have a criminal background.
- Through our Residential Treatment Program (CERP), we provide long-term out-of-home intensive treatment for individuals with addictions, criminal personality characteristics, and employment, education, and family issues.
- Our Banyan Community Health Residential Reentry Center (RRC) provides a safe and structured environment, employment counseling, job placement, and other services for individuals who are nearing release from prison.
Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU)
Through our Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU), we provide immediate counseling and referral services to adult consumers who are experiencing a mental health or substance abuse crisis.
This unit functions in the place of involuntary or voluntary hospitalization or incarceration, as an alternative for people affected by acute psychiatric or emotional distress.
Centralized Receiving Facility (CRF)
Our Centralized Receiving Facility (CRF) is housed in the same building as our Crisis Stabilization Unit at 3800 W. Flagler. This facility is designated for evaluating and coordinating treatment for adults who require stabilization or who require acute intervention for mental, emotional, or substance abuse crises.
