Blood Pressure Screenings and Monitoring in South Florida

Banyan Community Health provides blood pressure screenings at all three of our Community Health Centers, as well as monitoring and support for patients diagnosed with hypertension. Understanding Hypertension (High Blood Pressure)

Blood Pressure is the force of blood pushing against the walls of the arteries that carry blood from your heart to other parts of your body. If the flow of your blood is too forceful (high) it can damage the arteries and lead to health problems.

Causes of Hypertension

Experts don’t always know what causes hypertension. High blood pressure can be the result of genetics, but the risk of developing hypertension is often increased by our daily habits. Risk factors for hypertension include2:
