Banyan Health Systems Recieves SAMHSA BCCBHC Grant to Fight Opioid Epidemic

Banyan responds to the rise in opioid use during the pandemic by expanding its women’s health services to include perinatal behavioral health prevention, education and treatment. The program is supported by SAMHSA’s Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics (CCBHC) Expansion Grant, recently awarded to Banyan, to meet the growing need for behavioral health services in South Florida. These SAMHSA grants were awarded to support treatment prevention and recovery efforts for those affected by COVID-19 and in need of personalized mental and substance use disorder (SUD) treatment services.

CCBHC’s provide person and family-centered, integrated services to vulnerable populations through access to critical mental health and addiction safety net resources. Banyan will collaborate with community partners to coordinate comprehensive services, increase outreach, and expand their women’s health program through enhanced psychoeducation, prevention, and treatment.

The grant will allow Banyan to implement scalable solutions to the opioid crisis by improving access to lifesaving treatment
