Therapist

Responsibilities: 

Spectrum Programs/Miami Behavioral Health Center has immediate full-time openings for Masters level, Therapists for adults and children.  The Therapist will provide mental health and substance abuse counseling to adults, children and/or families. Some of the services that the Therapist will be responsible for performing include, but are not limited to individual, family and group therapy,  therapeutic behavioral services on site or as position varies ( travel may be required), formulate individualized treatment plan/treatment plan reviews, and is charge planning.

The Therapist must be computer literate and have proficiency with Microsoft Office, and email. Strong written communication and interpersonal skills in both English and Spanish are a must. Participate in on-going quality improvement and utilization review activities. Attend and participate in agency training activities, meetings, and supervision sessions. The principal functions of the position identified shall not be considered as a complete description of all the work requirements and expectations that may be inherent in the position.

Requirements: 
  • A Graduate of an accredited Master’s program in Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling or related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years experience providing substance abuse and/or mental health counseling in adults and children. A current/valid in the State of Florida License in Therapy and/or Social Work is a plus. (Examples: LCSW, LMHC and LMFC).
  • Proficiency in oral, verbal and written skills (both English and Spanish) is required.
  • Ability to work with diverse groups and individuals.
  • Maintains current annual training requirements.
  • Provides mental health and substance abuse services according to discipline standards and in accordance to policies and procedures.
  • Completes required clinical paperwork within specified time frame.
  • Knowledge of the Medicaid manual and all updated revisions.
  • Maintain ongoing chart audits to ensure compliance and quality assurance of services provided.
  • Knowledge of DSM-IV.
  • Proficiency in utilizing community resources as supportive services and discharge planning.
  • Serves as a liaison for the client, family, referral source and other social service agencies.
  • Computer literate of the internet, online applications, and email.
